A mat forming cactus that grows approximately

30 cms high & up to 60cms across in normal conditions.

Has stout stems and very broad formidable spines,

young growth has wonderful cherry red spines

From Baja California hence it needs warmer winter temperatures, can only resist occasional light frost.

It is  sensitive to over watering & needs good drainage.
